  • MAY 17 | KEYS OF LIFE PRESENTS DUETS: AN AFTERNOON OF CLASSICAL PIANO
    Miss Daphne McDole and the students of Keys of Life would like to extend an invitation for you to join them for an afternoon of classical piano music at their Spring Recital entitled Duets.  The afternoon will be special in that for the first time - the students will be paired together on 2 different pianos performing at the same time. The Recital will feature the music of classical masters such as Mozart, Clementi, Beethoven and Tchaikovosky.

    Duets is scheduled for Saturday, May 17 at 3p in the King-Seabrook Chapel on the campus of Huston-Tillotson University and is FREE and open to the public.

  • MAY 18 | INTERNATIONAL AIDS CANDLELIGHT MEMORIAL
    The International AIDS Candlelight Memorial is among the world’s oldest movements by civil society for HIV/AIDS remembrance, awareness and community action. The Candlelight Memorial is also an opportunity to educate about AIDS, advocate for policy change, foster partnerships and community dialogue, and improve skills for community mobilization.

    Austin will be joining in with an evening of performance, prayer, and commitment ceremonies in Republic Square Park, 422 Guadalupe at 8:00 p.m. Speakers, singers, poem readers, artists, and participants of all kinds, including anyone wanting to make a commitment to a loved one, are welcome to take part.   • MAY 22 | AUSTIN WOMAN'S FILM, MUSIC, AND LITERARY FESTIVAL
    Running for it's 8th year, The 2008 Austin Woman's Film, Music & Literary Festival formally under the name of Blowin' Up A Spot! Film Festival: A Woman's Perspective is having an open call for female, musicians, filmmakers, actors, workshop presenters, spoken word artists, and screenwriters to submit their work.

    The festival will be held May 22-25. The purpose of this event is to increase the awareness of women's art from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. A $500 cash prize will be available for the "Best Of The Fest". Early Deadline for Submission is April 6th with $15 entry fee. Late Deadline for submission is May 3rd with $20 entry fee.
