  • JULY 18 | LBJ CLASS OF 1993 15-YEAR REUNION
    The Lyndon B. Johnson Class of 1993 will be having its 15 year class reunion the weekend of July 18-20. Friday night's event will kick off with a Evening of Food and Fun from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am at The Archive Lounge located in Lincoln Village at 6406 IH 35 North, Suite 1600. A picnic will be held on Saturday at Webberville Park off FM-969 beginning at 12:00 pm. On Sunday, there is a church service at Turning Point Baptist Church which will be held at Barbara Jordan Elementary School at 11:00 am located on Johnny Morris. Tickets are $25 for singles and $45 for couples.

  • JULY 19 | ORANGE AND WHITE FOOTBALL CAMP
    Limas Sweed (Pittsburgh Steelers), Michael Griffin (Tennessee Titans) and Marcus Griffin (Minnesota Vikings) and NFL friends will host their first annual Orange and White Football camp on July 19, 2008 at Reagan High School in Austin, Texas.  The Orange and White Football Camp provides boys and girls, 8-17, a chance to be coached by the best the NFL has to offer.

    In addition to the NFL players, high school, middle school and youth program coaches will also be present. Campers will receive proper supervision, small group instruction and maximum repetition.  The camp begins at 10am and ends at 4:30pm and emphasizes fundamentals, form, technique and different aspects of each position and promotes sportsmanship.

    At the end of the day, campers will participate in brief talks with players on key issues facing youth today. The “player talks” follow and open forum format, allowing for questions, group discussion and the opportunity to share personal experiences.

    Come out and enjoy the original Black gospel play, “Caught n Candy” at the Killeen Civic & Conference Center, 3601 South W. S. Young Drive, Killeen, TX. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the performance starting at 7:30 p.m.

    This play written and directed by Bobby McMorris, explores the parallelism of being “Caught n Candy” for the wealthy business owner, Samuel Buggs, who must control his desire for the “sweet” Candy and for all of us who must deny the pursuit of desires which can become “sticky”.
